Who We Are

We are a group of writers and thinkers from Jijiga, now part of the diaspora, united by a shared passion for words, memory, and meaning. Coming from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, we use prose, poetry, and reflection to capture the spirit of Jijiga; a town shaped by many cultures, languages, and traditions, woven together to create its own unique identity.

Our platform is a space to celebrate, remember, and explore the richness of Jijiga’s past and present. We warmly invite others to join us;  writers, poets, and thinkers alike;  to contribute and help enrich this evolving cultural landscape. Thoughtful commentaries on current issues are also welcome, as long as they uphold our shared values of respect and understanding.

We do not tolerate malicious or targeted writings against individuals or groups. Our aim is to build a community of voices that inform, inspire, and connect;  keeping the spirit of Jijiga alive, wherever we may be.
